On the south-east part of the island, on the right side along the main road of Kambos and four kilometers from Hora, the central Mastic villages are scattered over the so-called Kambochora region.

Emborios is one of the most unique places of Chios and of all Greece in general. The port of Emborios is five kilometers from the central road of the southern villages, and its name shows that it was a trading center in the classical world.

Thimiana lies seven kilometers south from the citFy of Chios, past Kambos. It has approximately 1600 inhabitants, therefore being one of the largest settlements of Chios.
