The movie “Z” is an Algerian-French thriller shot in 1969 by the director Kostantinos Gavras.
The film's title relates to a popular Greek protest slogan meaning “he lives” refering to the Greek politician Grigoris Lambrakis.
“Z” was nominated for the Academy Award for “Best Foreign Language Film”, “Best Picture” and won the “New York Film Critics Circle Awards”, the “Golden Globes” and many others.
