Heifervescent

In this week`s band of the week, I want to present to you a slightly different concept of a band: What I am talking about is the rock, pop and indie band “Heifervescent”, a band consisting of only one person. It is basically a one-man-band.

The band “Heifervescent” was found in the year 2002 by the talented musician Andy Doran. And, as already mentioned, “Heifervescent” is actually not really a band. It rather is a solo project of Andy Doran, writing, performing and producing every song on his own, only sometimes with the help of some friends. This fact is even more impressive considering that Andy Doran has published 10 albums in the 16 years of his work as “Heifervescent”. The music of “Heifervescent” is a mixture between rock and pop with a lot of guitar tunes. It contains mostly strong and simple tunes and thus evokes the feeling of music in a raw way, which doesn`t mean, that “Heifervescent`s” music can`t be sentimental and soft too. The guitar tunes are often carried by electronic arrangements, which can be either hypnotic or strong and loud. “Heifervescent`s” music is strongly influenced by the Beatles or Pink Floyd, which Doran lists as some of his favorite bands.
Andy Doran started his musical career in the 90s as the guitarist and singer of the rock and indie band “Monkeyand” in Northern England. With the end of the decade, also the liaison of the band “Monkeyand” came to an end. In 2000 this band had a brief reformation with a slightly changed composure, but that was not meant to work. So, after the second split up of the band, Andy Doran continued writing songs on his own, and, after a crazy experience involving cows, gave his music project the name “Heifervescent”,. He published his first album in 2002, one year later the next one. His most successful album Pondlife Fiasco was published in 2005. Up to this date he has published 10 albums and is currently working on his eleventh.
Now, Andy Doran lives with his wife Jo and their five year old daughter Georgia in Lancashire, in the United Kingdom.
All of his music is free to listen to and to download on the Internet platform Jamendo, or on his website www.heifervescent.com. And now have fun listening to his song “It`s coming together” from the album “Pondlife Fiasco”, a song which shows as well “Heifervescent’s” soft and his hard side. If you like it, check out Jamendo and his website for more nice and good music.
