Kimolos

This beautiful island is part of the Cicladi's islands and is near to the bigger island of Milos.

It is famous for the landscapes which includes amazing beaches extending from thin sand to pebbles,the history,volcanic soil, minerals.

For the geology you can find “Skiadi”,that is a big mushroom shaped stones predominates the middle of a small valley in the interior of the island.

It was created during a process called “Ablation” in which the dust carried by the wind clashed the stone but through centuries, it has been shaped in a unique form.

In the past, Kimolos was a battleground between Ancient Athens(the ruler of the island) and Sparta(the ruler of Milos) but such as the rest of Greece, it was governed by the Ottoman Empire until 1829.

Most of the population is involved with the tourist industry and agriculture activities.
