Who is the inventor of the cone of the ice-cream?

Who is the inventor of the cone of the ice cream?

Everybody knows that the modern ice cream is an Italian invention but who really has invented the cone?
Is a question with many possible answers but nobody is sure which is the correct one, so I would like to
introduce two different thesis, but

before we start I want to remind that before the invention of the cone,
the ice cream was ate at the table on plates how the costumes wanted.

The first thesis, published by an important magazine, says that the cone has been invented in 1904 at the
universal fair in Saint Louis USA by a syrian pastry chef Ernest Hamwi in order to sell ice cream also to
the tourist he used his ‘zalabia’ , a dense pasta cooked in wafer press, to hold ice cream and let it taste
to the tourists when they were wandering in the fair.
This idea is born because the ice-cream-man was ending the plates, so his friend Ernest Hamwi (the pastry chef)
helped him with his rolled zalabi.

The second thesis, also this one published by the same magazine but many years later, is attributed to the
italian Italo Marchioni. After his death, in 1954, has been published his necrology telling that in 1896 he
prepared the first ice-cream-cone with his family and soon after in 1903 in USA he obtained the patent for
the pasta machine to create cones.

Although there are different thesis, more than 2, but the others are not believable, only one is true.
