Shower

It is almost impossible for the people in the western world to imagine a life without a shower. We shower almost every day to clean our bodies and our hair, and to relax under the soothing stream of warm water. But a very long time ago people lived without this luxury good which has become so ordinary for us.

Originally showers were totally different from the modern ones we have now. They were outside and completely created by nature: waterfalls. Later, the people started to copy this natural phenomenon by simply pouring water over themselves because that was more efficient and also faster than the traditional basin.

Then, ancient people slowly developed the first “real” showers. They were already indoor and had plumbed-in water. These large communal showers were mostly used in sports stadiums so that athletes could refresh there after an exhausting training.

But who invented these showers? Was it really the Greeks? Maybe the ancient Egyptians? Or the Romans? Chinese people? Check the solution if you are curious!

Solution:
It is true that the Greeks invented the modern shower!
