What suits better for an entertaining cheerful evening than a comedy which offers a bit action, tense, love and of course a lot of amusing scenes? Probably, a comedy pleases everybody and creates a positive atmosphere. But who invented this type of entertainment?

 

 

 

The comedy is very old and has its origin in chants and jolly games which were celebrated in honor to the goodness of fertility.  A singer asked the listeners different questions about religion, life and virtues and surrounding people answered all at the same time like a choir.  Therefore, a dialogue between the questioning man and the answering audience developed.

This celebration day became more and more popular, humans began to enjoy the playful atmosphere and actors started to respond differently  to the singer and replaced the replying listeners.

More and more, this cult expanded and performers began to stage their play in theaters where a lot of viewers were able to watch it. Furthermore, lot’s of funny situation were shown because actors played humane weaknesses in an exaggerate and self-ironic way or presented ridiculous awkward figures from the lower society.

After a while, actors also wore costumes and requisites were used. For that reason, it was interesting for people to visit such comedy plays although they were no longer part of the performance themselves. Moreover, comedies always had a happy end and that’s why humans used to watch this genre after visiting a drama play or an execution for getting a good mood again.

In nowadays, the comedy captures cinemas, TVs, books and theaters. But where was this kind of entertainment invented? Try to figure it out and speak if it’s Greek!
