Story

The 20-year-old Sophie Sheridan is about to get married on an idyllic Greek island and has just found out that one of three men could be her father, but she does not know which one, and her mother refuses to discuss the topic with her. Having the dream of her father walking her to the altar, she decides to invite all three of them to her wedding, without her mother knowing about it. While her mother, Donna, is shocked when these three men arrive to the island, Sophie tries to figure out which one could be her father, which turns out not to be at all as easy as she thought. All three men are convinced they are her father, Donna is confused about her feelings towards them and Sophie’s fiancé is getting tired of all the difficulties and misunderstandings.

Mamma Mia! was nominated for two Golden Globe awards and has won several other awards. The critics gave it mixed reviews – The Guardian’s critic thought the movie made him want to vomit, while The Times gave it four stars out of five. Although this movie might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it is without a doubt positive, colorful and entertaining.
