The City of children

Four different couples, a series of pregnancy and everything in the modern Athens. It is not difficult to conclude that there will be a row of conflicts and crises arise.

 

Giorgos Gikapeppas expresses the arrival of children through these four very different couples with different, but equal hard conflicts for their life.
One of these has to handle with a difficult marital crisis which ends in a tragedy family situation. Another young couple gets into the gun force of an angry man to reconsider a premature pregnancy. Also a young immigrant from Iraqi is forced to give birth to the child in her body unexpected. Before she was scared of her young neighbor and camera stalker, but just with the help of her neighbor she was able to deal with this strange situation. He starts to become a good neighbor. Unfortunately she also lives alone in her apartment. The fourth “couple” are sharing one man till the they meet. Two sterile women forced by a long struggle of in vitro fertilizations meet in this regard unexpected and found out that there is the same man in their life. Conspicuous is also, there is nearly no chance to see one of these main characters happy or enjoying. The atmosphere is governed by distrust, dissatisfaction, unhappiness, fear and resentment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 So all of these mini stories dealing with one very important topic: pregnancy. It also seems to be the author’s intention to show that everybody has to deal with this. Rich, poor, immigrants, young, middle aged, to sum up-everybody. And additionally he also offers a look in the different kinds of becoming mother- in vitro fertilizations, premature pregnancy, as an immigrant and single mother. He shows this though this fateful story without time for sentimentality, but for much frustration.
