Uniform Motion - Music combined with Illustrations

Uniform Motion is a French indie-folk band from Toulouse, which is combining their music with drawings. The band has three members, two are responsible for the music (Oliver Piotee and Andy Richards) and even one responsible for illustrations (Renaud Forestié).

 
BIOGRAPHY


2008

In 2008 Andy Richards and Renaud Forestié started to combine their music with drawings and created a web series. They decided to play music of a live performance and combine it with drawings, which are displayed on a viedoscreen. They also created a interactive comic every two weeks.
Soon the French magazine "Les Inrockuptibles" noticed the band and so the first step of their career started. Uniform Motion won the CQFD Remix ’08 contest and the result was to play their first shows in La Maroquinerie and Apple Expo in Paris, before they had the change to play on "i> Télé", a national news channel.


2009

The first album "Pictures" is released in 2009.
Uniform Motion reached the regional final of the "Printemps de Bourges Contest". Andy and Renaud started also their first tour, to Germany. They made experiments with blank CD packing and Renaud was drawing custom pictures on it.

2010

The band started a new website in preparation of their new Album "Life". The following concert was  Flash based Virtual.
Soon the international Press got wind of Uniform Motion, like in Canada, USA, Great Britain or Germany, and wrote many articles about them.
The band also got some airplay on NME Radio, BBC 6music, byte.fm, et and some positive reviews of their new album "Life".
They also reached the final of the CQFD contest in Les Inrockuptibles.


2011

Uniform Motion started their third album.
After the recording they put two new songs and a promotional video game on their website and they asked their fans for ordering the new album. So they could collect money to produce their new CD and one month later they had enough money for it.

The band also gained attention in social networks and so they got more and more fans. They also documented their experiments on their blog.
They got more popular and later even traditional outlets like "Der Spiegel", "BBC Radio", "MTV" and "Forbes" wrote about them in their articles.
Uniform Motion belonged the second time in the final of the "Printemps de Bourges Contest" and they won.


2012

In 2012 they followed the character of their third album and created some short videos, even with photos of fans.
Uniform Motion started the website onecitypersecond.com, which gave them the possibility to belong to Sweden, Spain and Germany. Their concerts were successful and they even created some tutorials for their fans, to play easily the music of the band.
They also gave them the possibility to donate money for their fourth album.
The already successful band reached the final of the French "O Folies Contest" and they occur in the national TV in France.

2013

Uniform Motion created  their 4th album " The Magic Empire" and takes it all over the world.
