Homerion Cultural Center of Chios

The charity that is a trifle to us can be precious to others.

Quoted from the famous poet Homer, these words best to describe the purpose of the facility named after him, the Homerion Cultural Center of Chios.

Located at the main square of the city of Chios, the center was founded in 1980 with generous donations from the municipality of Chios, and in 1985 from Μιχάλης and Σταματία Ξυλά. The entity was declared legal in 1989 and in the period from 1980 until 1995 over 3000 events took place in the spacious structure. The topics of these events ranged from film screenings, lectures and photography exhibitions over conferences and teaching courses to theatrical and dancing performances.
