Katavasi

This small village is 31 km far away from Volissos, which is the capital of the newly established municipality of Amani.

Every year on the 20th October, the inhabitants are in memory of Chain Saint Matrona, who was born in Volissos in the 13th and 14th centuary AD. The church in Katavasi is named after her.

Close to the church someone can find cold spring water, which comes out in the shade of a huge tree.
Katavasi is a small but worth seeing village, especially if you are on the way to Volissos.
