The Lighthouse
Ships have been and still are one of the most used ways of transportation of goods and passengers. Using them, however, requires a skilled crew, an experienced captain and some tools for navigation. A lighthouse was the perfect way of signalizing dangers and lightening the way. But is it of Greek origin?
Solution:
False! Though the Greeks were skilled sailors and clever inventors, the first to be recorded lighthouse is the famous Lighthouse of Pharos, which is situated in the Alexandria in Egypt. Therefore not the Greeks, but their neighbours brought us this historic kind of building.
