My Life In Ruins

This is another movie with Nia Vardalos as both, director and actress of the central character. Together with Nia Vardalos as one character, there are a lot of other famous and popular actors and actresses like for example Richard Dreyfuss, Alexis Georgoulis, Harland Williams and Alistair Mcgowan present in the movie.

The rom-com was shot in Greece and Spain (Alicante) and published on the 5th of July 2009 in the USA and on 7th of May 2009 in Greece. It was the first time that an American film studio was allowed to shoot in the Acropolis in Athens and places like Olympia, Delphi and Epidaurus.

Storyline:

Georgia (Nia Vardalos) is an American-Greek tour-guide and travels with her group across Greece. Unfortunately, she has to accept that her group of tourists from various countries (Canada, Austria, America, UK etc.) are more interested in souvenirs than in the rich Greek history which is Georgia's passion and the reason why he has chosen this job. This mixture of dissatisfaction caused by her group, the old bus and the busdriver as well, the messy hotel and the fact that she never fails to blunder into things make the decision easier for her to cancel her job. At the time she already applied for a job at a Greek university but did not get any positive answers yet.

Suddenly everything changes when the tourist Irv shows her how to have fun and how to recover her lost spirit. To top it all, the success in her work and the revenge to her mean colleague who is always trying to make Georgia's life even more harder, she finds what she never expected:

Her mysterious busdriver (Alexis Georgoulis) develops during the movie into a handsome and kind companion, friend and in the end they fall in love. Georgia is so happy and contended with her work as a tourist- guide that she refuses the positive answer of an Athens University.

This movie is definitely a "must-watch" for every age because this movie contains charming actors and actresses, a story full of sniggers and laughs as well and amazing shots of Greece most famous tourist attractions.
