Grenzlandtage is about a young girl named Jule.

Jule wanted to go to the small Greek island with her friend before taking the final exam. But then she has to drive alone. Two weeks lie ahead of Jule. Two weeks of spring on a tiny Greek island. The sea is blue, the nights are clear, and the village smells of fresh bread. Everything seems perfect. Until Jule meets the young man with the bandaged hand. Until she realizes who he and the others are. Because the idyllic village hides a secret. A group of refugees lives there in the underground. They are stranded and want to continue traveling. The man with the bandaged hand is Asman. Together with Hassan, the pregnant Naime, and many others, he fled across the sea. The refugees have found shelter in an empty house. Then an European is found murdered in a ravine and the situation worsens. The island's police chief is under enormous pressure. He should clarify the case so that the tourists keep coming. Although Asman is suspected, it is not possible to link him to the murder. While the others keep their distance, Asman seeks Jules' proximity. She wants to help but everything is going down because soon she will be drawn further and further into Asman's life until they fall in love …

"Grenzlandtage" is a very moving youth novel about the current background of the refugee crisis. It provides a glimpse of the people who are on the run, of their respective fates, but also of the people who want to help them. It is a sustainable book that is thought-provoking and informative. Despite all the problems, it is also a wonderful love story.
