The Hecatoncheires

These three creatures are as a group called “The Hecatoncheires” and as individuals Cottus, Briareus and Gyges. They are brothers with the parents Uranus and Gaia. Their appearance makes them one of the most terrifying creatures you can think of. All three are of enormous size and strength with each one hundred arms. Although this is already very impressive and frightening, the strangest fact about their body is that every one of them has fifty heads and with that one hundred eyes, fifty mouths and so on. With these information’s alone, you would probably expect to hear about them as human eating and cruel out of pure boredom and their huge power to do so. However, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and so these three brothers played a big role in supporting the godfather Zeus in his fight against the Titans. In addition, the fight wasn’t just any fight, the reason for it was the fight for the control of the universe. Furthermore, they fought on Zeus side even though the twelve Titans which they had to defeat were there siblings. In the End the three brothers helped Zeus and the other gods of the Olymp to win over the titans and imprison them to prevent escalations in the future. The important task to guard them gave Zeus to Cottus, Briareus and Gyges the three Hecatoncheires Brothers.
