...every time a baby is born an immortal purple tree grows?

Statistics say that there`s a average of 82,377,000 babies that are born every year. 225,690 per day, 157 every minute and 2.6 every second. But what would happen if every time a human is born an immortal tree with purple leaves grows?

So every day 225,690 trees would grow. Let`s say that this special tree grows about one meter per year. After a few years there would be a huge purple forest. As the trees are immortal they can`t be dead after a burn or after other natural disasters. There`s no possibility to stop the process of growth. At first sight it seems pretty good. Trees are very important for us as humans, because they shelter from sunlight, wind and rain. They change the climate in a positive way - to be very brief. So the earth could definitely recover. But if these purple trees grow and grow unstoppable they disturb the ecological balance. There wouldn`t be enough space for “normal” trees, for animals and last but not least even for us humans. Since the trees are immortal and humans not, the human population would be smaller than the number of purple trees someday. The economy could recover but humans couldn`t live anymore on earth unless we find a way to adapt. Maybe we could build everything on trees? Shops, schools, houses, companies everything connected by swing bridges.  A childhood dream would come true! It would look like in a fairytale – colorful trees and tree houses. And maybe new species would develop adapted to the new purple trees. But however life would become totally different on earth!

Could you imagine yourself in this world?
