... you would have the world to yourself?

Everyone of us is used to having someone around from the moment we are born. Mostly the people surrounding us are our parents or other parts of our families. After 2 years we get to know new children in the kindergarten, then kids in primary school and high school, then people in the university and then at work. Basically we are always surrounded by someone but let’s imagine that you will be the only one on this planet.

Nowadays where knowledge can be shared so easily by the media, social media or books and the educational school system mostly everyone has a very good common knowledge and would probably be able to survive alone on earth, not only because of our common knowledge but also because of our basic human instincts. The only problem that we might have is getting hurt seriously and because many of us do not have enough medical knowledge we would not be able to treat ourselves properly but as most of the accidents that happen are caused by human failure that should not be a big problem anymore.

After being surrounded by people for all the past years of our life I think it would be perfect to be able to enjoy just listening to the sounds of nature without being distracted by people shouting, street workers or all the traffic noise. We could feel so much closer to nature if we were alone at places like the Niagara Falls or on the Mount Everest. We could enjoy every place in perfect silence and we would not have to worry about things that were created by our society like correct social behavior, going to school and working or money. All those things become irrelevant as soon as we are alone.

The only problem is that there are also good points about having people around us as everyone of us contributes something to society. That makes cultural diversity possible and makes life more interesting. Besides that we humans are individuals who are supposed to live in groups with other humans because we benefit from relationships with other humans in many different ways.

What do you think you would do if you had the world to yourself?
