... life was just a dream?

Mostly everyone of us just lives life without really questioning it. We don’t question things because we either do not know an answer to those questions or the only possible answers we could think of frustrate us. But let’s just imagine for a few moments that life is just a phenomenon consisting of self-consciousness and self-awareness so basically the only thing that we know exists is the one’s mind.

The theory behind this idea is called “solipsism”. The theory’s main idea is that everything outside of the one’s mind can’t be known so it can either be real or unreal.

To us everything that our senses perceive is real. So basically everything we either smell, hear, see, feel or taste appears as reality to us. But what if our senses trick us and everything we think of perceiving is actually not there?
This would mean that life itself is just an illusion and everything and everyone around us would just be a simulation like figures in a computer game.

That way the only thing we can definitely know is that our mind and our awareness exist because as a famous philosopher once said: “I think, so I exist”.

If there actually is no materia around us and everything is just an imagination in our consciousness life would be either a simulation or a dream. As some of you might know, we actually can have an impact on what happens in our dreams.

So let’s say life is a dream. If we now manage to become aware of life just being a dream we would actually have the ability to decide what the dream should look like and what should happen in it. You could decide to find the love of your life or to be a superhero, you could be and have whatever you want.

But there is still one question: What if you die in the dream? The only answer I could imagine is that you wake up in another dimension. If we imagine our dreams at night as a life in another dimension then every morning we wake up, we actually wake up to a life in another dimension and maybe that’s what happens when we die, we just wake up in another dimension with our mind being the only thing surely existing.
