It is time to present you a new artist in our category ‘Band of the week’. Today, I’ll present you Gianluca Pochiero, known as Pokki DJ, a young Italian music producer and DJ.

Pochiero was born in the small Italian town Santo Stefano al Mare and was always passionate about music. When he was in 10th grade, he got a keyboard and discovered how much he enjoys expressing himself and his thoughts and feelings through music.

In 2007, Pochiero started his musical career as Pokki DJ by mixing dance music in local nightclubs, special events and private parties. Even though the artist enjoys playing in front of an audience and he is also getting important credit for his work as DJ, Pochiero soon figures out that he wants to do more than just mixing music. In 2008 he is already drawn to music production which soon becomes the center of his work.

Trying to creating his own style, he is approaching Big Room and EDM styles in 2015. Within time, Pochiero recognizes that the music he wants to produce, which is music that is captivating, absorbing, deep and makes the listeners body move, best fits into the music style future bass. Future bass is a genre in electronic dance music, emphasizing modulated synthesizer bass sounds. Pokki DJs two most popular songs are the single ‘Energy’ he released in 2015 and ‘Remember this night’ which was published in 2017 as a result of a music collaboration with a Californian singer. As Pochiero decided to share his music Royalty-Free and without any Copyright claims, you can find many of his songs as background music for example on YouTube. He also collaborates as a music producer with the local radio studio R24.

His musical influence is quite diverse, with role models like Queen, Hans Zimmer and also Avicii. This eclectic combination of artists can also be found in the variety of his songs.
