Ronald Kah

Did you ever experience watching a movie and falling in love with the music? Personally, I think a good soundtrack is the first step to a great movie. Today I’d like to present you Ronald Kah, a young German composer for soundtracks, film and game music.

Ronald Kah was born 1986 in the German city Potsdam. Since he can remember, music played a big part in his life. With eight years, little Ronald started playing the guitar and continued his musical path by writing his first own song being ten years old. In 2000, he publicly released music for the first time. 14 years later, he completed writing his first movie soundtrack. Since then, he produces soundtrack music for movies, games and radio plays. For example the soundtrack for the movie ‘Star Trek: Dark Horizon’ or the German movie ‘Neuanfang’.

Kah always used music to escape from real life, therefore it was and still is a big part of his life. What I also really admire about this weeks’ artist is that he taught all the qualities that are typical for him as a movie composer himself. Ronald Kah is influenced by artists like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Enya and Kai Rosenkranz.

Additionally to composing music, Kah also writes a blog all around the topic music. On his website you can find entries like ‘Music composition – 7 things you need to know’ or ‘Movie music – an abstract’.

And all of this, Ronald Kah is doing in his free time. He also provides the music free to download under the Creative Commons License. Listen now to his song ‘Horizon’. I would describe it as a dramatic movie soundtrack. I hope you like the song and remember this young artist if you ever need a soundtrack for your projects.
