Arcadia Lost

Not entirely a Greek film, but shot in Greece and made by Greek director.

Film directed by Phedon Papamichael Jr - great cinematographer, who worked on films such as: 3:10 to Yuma, The Descendants or The Ides of March. Arcadia Lost is his directorial debut.

Two teenegers lost their parents in a car accident while spending their holidays in Greece. From that day Sharlotte (Haley Bennet) and her recently met stepbrother Sye (Carter Jenkins) can rely only on each other. As they wander the dusty roads and its wonderful views of the Peloponnese, they come across the philosopher and drinker Benerij (Nick Nolte), an American ex-patriot. They adopt him as their guide, and begin an adventurous journey through the mysterious Greece. On this trip several events force them to confront the truth of their past and the frightening reality of their present.

In critics opinion Papamichael Jr. created the visual sensation routed in a deep sense of timelessness and continuity.
