... Hitler won the Second World War?

The right to vote, free speech and education for everybody. Those human rights are quite normal for us nowadays. But we would probably not even know the true meaning of those words if democracy was not installed after the last big war on our continent. What if Hitler won the Second World War?

Of course this is, like all our ‚What If’ articles, a complete made up scenario but one can find some information how Hitler imagined his empire in his book ‘Mein Kampf’. The Nazis planned habitat enhancements in the eastern countries what basically means that they wanted to exchange the local population with German Aryans. That already more or less happened in Poland, where a big majority of the local inhabitants got deported into concentration camps. The Germans planned further to conquer Great Britain and Switzerland.

Of course it is also interesting what would have happened with other countries. Let’s suppose the German army did not fail in Stalingrad but won the battles and got to Moscow, where they gained control over the Soviet Union. Japan, the federate of Germany might have conquered most parts of Asia where they also installed dictatorship.

The next question is how the US would have acted in this scenario. One possibility is that they did not enter the Second World War which was why the Axis powers were able to win. It’s also likely that Germany and the United States remained in a cold war, although there is the theory that the Native American Elwood Towner sympathized with Hitler and offered him a grand army of Native Americans to overtake the States.

However the geographical borders would be if the Nazi regime would rule over Europe, also our daily life today would be, of course, totally different. Education would be only offered to Aryans and therefore a very small part of the total population. The children in those schools would experience brainwashing to prevent regime criticism. Death camps would still exist for everybody with another opinion than the government, Jews, scientists and handicapped people. It is also likely that the Nazis undertake mass sterilization for other races in order to control their population and prevent a revolt.

The foreseen role of the woman is also interesting. Women would be mainly used to ‘breed’ children, they even thought about legalizing plygyny, which means that one man can be married to multiple women and have even more children.

For me personally it would mean that I could not do this voluntary service, as this is supported by the European Union which would not exist. There wouldn’t even be an online radio to publish this article, as we would have no free Internet. I highly doubt that I would have ever travelled to ChiosIsland, as the Nazis for sure did not allow travels without a good reason.

I would have never tasted foreign food, would have never seen American series and would have never read a lot of books.

Probably, I would have already born two children, be married to a soldier and live in the same place where I was born.
