Carter Vail

This week I want to introduce you to a new artist whose music is not only deeply fascinating but also down to earth. We are talking about Carter Vail, who wraps unusual characters and relationships he has developed in simple yet inviting melodies.

Vail was born to a South African mother and Tennessean father on the 15th of January 1997 in the suburbs of New York. Carter's parents introduced him to completely controversial styles of music, greatly influencing his later sound and music.

In order to pursue his dream of becoming a musician Carter Vail moved to Miami, Florida where he studied music engineering at the Frost School of Music. Together with Reed Gaines, whom he had met at the university he formed the band “Parker”. Their first EP was released in April 2018, showing of their Alt-Country roots.

Carter has performed across the east coast, featuring multiple performances at the “Okeechobee Music Festival” and the “GroundUp Music Festival”.

His newest single “Silent Movies” was released on the 14th of September 2018 under the label Dreamtime Palace.

Now please lean back and enjoy listening to his single “Melatonin”, which was released on the 18th of May 2018. The song shows his passion for Lo-Fi Rock and was, as well as his first single, released under the Dreamtime Palace imprint. The song has been featured on multiple playlists, including Spotify’s Discover Weekly and Release Radar.
