Andrew Maze

This week I want to introduce you to Andrew Maze, a Russian singer-songwriter and music producer, who was born in Moscow in the late 1980's.

Andrew Maze was suffering from a lot of serious health issues in his childhood and therefore had to spend most of his time at home. During that period, listening to uplifting music was the only thing that gave him joy, but more importantly gave him hope. It was during that time, he realized he wanted to make music. However, he doesn't have any professional musical education and is a self-thaught musician as well as music producer.

His musical path started in 2001, at the age of thirteen, when he made his first steps producing electronic music. As he often missed classes, due to his serious health issues, he had a lot of time, which he used improving his skills and creating new tunes.

When he was just 19 years old, Andrew Maze got into the finals of Cellweller's "Fixt remix" contest and managed to win another contest in the follow-up.

The improving qualitiy of his music and his confidence were the reasons, he was able to release some of his work on major UK electronic labels such as "Lost Language" and "Distinctive Records". These achievements also lead to him being discovered by artists such as Cellweller, Bulletproof Messenger and I Will Never Be The Same.

It was in the year 2011 he decided to change a lot of things in is life, one of those also being his music. He concluded he wanted to try his skills in writing and producing acoustic pop music.

However, it can't be said that Andrew Maze restricts his work to only one kind of music, as his productions vary from acoustic to electronic, from commercial to movie trailers.

To conclude this short introduction of this week's musician, I invite you to listen to "Gone", which was released in 2018. Please lean back and enjoy.
