The Spin Wires

This week, I would like to present you a unique band I found lately. Its name is ‘The Spin Wires’ and they not only make good music but are also super likeable as they proved in the email they wrote me.

Let me tell you the story how the band got together. Tyson Prince who sings and plays the guitar, met Joe Grasso who plays the drums, at a Beer Olympics tournament in 2012. Unfortunately, they dropped out of the game as bronze medal winners. The good thing was that they started to discover that they both share a passion for upbeat punk music. A few days later, Prince and Grasso were sitting in a local bar and got to meet RJ Porter who is the bassist and singer nowadays. Porter was slightly inebriate and stated that he would play any instrument and any type of music as long as they would drink Canadian beer while doing. Even though Prince and Grasso do clearly not support Porters taste, the band ‘The Spin Wires’ was born.

The band is based in Buffalo, New York and their music has been featured on Showtimes’ Emmy nominated series Shameless and on NBC’s Player Style Files.

The Spin Wires want to create excellent, unique and original music. It could be described as edgy and danceable. They love to have fun and never take themselves too seriously – as you can see on the story they shared with me. This makes also their live shows and recordings special and refreshing.
