Square a Saw is an alias of Martin Ruhland, a musician and music producer. From a young age he was fascinated by music. He was amazed by the diversity and the compellingness that could be achieved in songs.

His first contact with actively making music was when he learned his first instrument, the piano. He quickly fell in love with it and had lots of fun playing. So much in fact, that a few years later he wanted to try something new. He started playing the drums and developed some special techniques so he could create nice fluid rythms.

With him gaining more and more knowledge and skill, he started fantasizing about having control over every single aspect of his music, which got him into music production. Over the years he learned a lot of different techniques and gained a lot of experience.

He has gained a lot more confidence in his music now and enjoys sharing it with the rest of us. His vision is to always put the music itself in the center stage so he focuses all his energy into creating great music rather than big marketing campaings. He also doesn't work in a big studio. Everything he needs he has at home. He relies on basic software and editing techniques and by this tries to make his work as efficient as possible.
