... everyone had super powers?

I'm sure everyone you know including yourself has once dreamt of having a super power, like super strength, invisibility, elasticity or shooting fire from your hands at least once in their lives. But what if that was to come true? What if every single one of us had some kind of special power? And would you use it for yourself, for good or maybe even for evil?

First, we would have to think about when and how we would get our power. Maybe you're born with it, maybe you even inherit it from your parents, maybe it evolves over time, depending on what you do/experience or maybe you can even choose it. Depending on that, the society we live in would vastly change. Let's say you get a random ability when you're born. Likely, some of the abilities would only be useful in certain situations, maybe even just worse versions of other abilities (for example camouflage < invisibility). That would mean that some people are still significantly less powerful than others, and would therefore need protection, by law or by some other mechanism. And to enforce those laws there would have to be a kind of police or military, which again creates other problems. In the end we would just have to rely on the people with a lot of power to also have a strong moral compass. But enough of that. Let's get to the good part.

What kind of super power would you want? Maybe just super strength, like the Hulk, to impress your friends and make everyone at the gym drop their jaws. What about Invisibility, maybe to become the greatest private investigator of all time, because noone ever expects you to listen to what they say. Or super speed, becoming the fastet person alive and winning countless olympic medals. No matter what kind of power you would have, there would always be some way for you to be useful, hopefully for a good cause. Just remember that with big power comes big responsibility.

I think that no matter what super powers we get, and how we get them, they remain a tool to the person that has them, just like money. When you give a power/money to a good person, that person can do a lot more good things, when you give those to a bad person, that just makes them more of a bad person. What do you think would happen? And do you think it would make changes for the better or the worse? We will probably never find out, but it's fun to imagine all the different things you could do if you actually had a special ability.
