'Nough Said

I am very proud to be able to introduce to you "'Nough Said", a band from my home region, as this week's band of the week. The four band members have already been playing together since 2016.

Soon they will release their next album, "chimera". The name fits of course perfectly for us as a chimera (χίμαιρα) is a creature consisting of various animals out of Greek mythology. It was often depicted as a lion with a goat head on its back and a tail that ends with a snake head. So let's hope the new album will be as fire-breathing as its name promises! The following song fulfills the expectation definitely. In “Extraordinary/Psychosocial” the speaker talks about the voices in his head that “take control of [his] mind”. In the second verse he announces the start of a fight against them (“they are smothering my rebellion but I will start to let out a fight”) but the last part of the song makes me doubt the success. It appears that this part expresses the voices themselves. It differs completely from the rest of the song as it is just with few accompaniment while the voice has a kind of intimidating appearance through the whispering in the background, don't you think? Also the lyrics are some kind of threatening: You can't escape from the voices in your head, they will “always be by your side”.
I personally like the variety of the song, the diversity of the different parts. It alternates between loud and quiet sections, between dense accompaniment, soli and plainness to stress the meaning of the lyrics. While listening this song definitely caught me. I really can recommend you checking out our band of the week “'Nough Said”.

I hope you'll enjoy the song and don't discover your extraordinary psychosocial part of your brain yourself now.
