Pavlos Sidripoulus

Pavlos Sidripoulus, born on July 27 1948 was a Musician who was very important to Greek Rock Music.

At the time when most of the Greek Rock Bands were using English lyrics, he was one of the only ones using Greek lyrics.

Born in Athens, he lived in Thessaloniki until he was six. After his sister was born the family moved to Athens. He was a good student although he did not spend much time studying. He got interested in rock music during the sixties and soon found himself attending concerts.

Pavlos started his career in 1970 when he founded the band Damon and Pinthias. During this time he was studying Maths at Thessaloniki. Coincidentally he shared a room with Vangelis Germanos who also went on to be a famous artist.  However he never finished his studies and went back to Athens to join the Band Bourboulia. Through this Group Pavlos first experimented with mixing the Greek language and rock music.

The Album Flou which he created with a band called Spiridoula, consisting of him and his brothers, is one of the most famous and influential Greek rock albums.

His great influence to Greek culture is shown by his two appearances in movies.

Sidiropoulos also wrote poems as well as texts with political and philosophical views.
