2917 - Back to the top

The movie '2917 - Back to the top' is about the 32-year-old Leonidas, a punk paraplegic who wants to climb the top of Olympus.

The movie is a mixed-media ducomentary that combines classic narration and animation elements and tells the story of how Ιωάννα Πετειναράκη (Ioanna Peteinaraki) helps Leonidas realise his dream.
Most of the production took place in Athens, Thessalonica and on the Olympus, and of course in the animation studio, where the thoughts, wishes and fears of Leonidas were put into pictures.
'2917 - Back to the top' is a co-production of Real Eyes Productions and Aning Film and was first shown at the 20th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in march 2018.

After long months of intense preparations the group of Leonidas and some of his newly won friends set out to climb Olympusonce and for all. Accompanied by a team of experienced mountain climbers and rescuers, the group will try to set a new record for making Leonidas the first person in a wheelchair to climb the Olympus. But what obstacles must they overcome? Can someone in a wheelchair really climb a mountain as big as the Olympus? And will Leonidas achieve his goal? 

The movie wants to inspire others to never give up on their dreams and eventually even make the impossible possible.
