... we still wrote love letters?

I guess everyone of you has been moved at least once by a beautiful love poem written by an author of the past. But you have to think that, not so long ago, also our grandparents were writing down their feelings and their desires in some beautiful words: they were writing love letters.
Now that we communicate only by short texts and that we post everything on social media, the idea of writing a love letter could sound so outdated and even embarrassing.
But I still want to ask you: have you ever written or received one?  And if your answer is no, why?
Before mobile phones and heart-shaped emoticons, the best way to let a person know that you care was to grab some paper and to write exactly how you felt. It may seem cheesy but a love letter is a rare and unique object, and to be good it doesn't have to be full of big words and metaphors but to be authentic, because love has imperfections too.
But above all we should remember that it isn't  necessary to be a poet to make our beloved ones happy, they will just adore that we dedicated our time to put into words how much we loved them. So, in the end you may regret not having ever written one.
