... weapons did not exist?

Imagine people would not be warring with one another – at least not with weapons. We would not have had any wars and no people would die due to accidents with weapons. We would probably not need military at all or at least it would have a different name and different tasks. There would also be less police men needed.

Of course without weapons and wars we would be even more people today on earth – what would probably also be not the best concerning the problem of the overpopulation. But actually there are no advantages of weapons at all. They just exist to kill each other.

Weapons are often created out of something that was positive before. So for example the Haber-Bosch process was invented to create artificial fertilizer out of the nitrogen in the air in order to prevent more and cheaper food for the growing world population but in the end it was also used to make chemical weapons and explosive for the first World War. Or the cyclone B that was used in the gas chambers of the concentration camps during the Nazi period actually was a pesticide.

So many people die every single hour because of the use of weapons, for example innocent people who live in war zones. But there are also 96 people dying everyday due to guns in the USA.

Violence is part of the human nature, we are no peaceful creatures. Some of us have a "reason" why they are violent, some just do it out of fun.

But imagine now a world, in which we would not have weapons to express our fury. Of course this does not mean a world of only peace and harmony but maybe it means a world in which we just fight with words, without hurting each other physically. Isn't this a more intelligent way to argue?
Without weapons people would maybe also think more about what they do. If you just have to press one small button to kill many people the feeling is different from being face to face with them. And of course it is easier to settle an argument with using violence than having to think about a solution through discussion.
But of course words can harm you, too – often even more than plain violence. So there would be less people with physical injuries but probably more with emotional.

So what do you think, would a world without weapons be better than our world? In my opinion the question is not so easy to answer. I think people will always find a way to harm each other severely, whether it is physically or emotionally. So a world without weapons would probably not be the solution. The whole human mind would have to change – everybody everywhere would have to change his attitude and also his in somehow natural (although rude) behaviour towards someone else. If this happened, we would probably not even need weapons anymore.
