... humans had tails?

Throught millions of years of evolution we learned how to live on the ground and walk upright. We lost parts of our bodies we didn't need (e.g. most of our hair) and changed others, like opposable thumbs. But have you ever imagined how would it be if we had tails?

Although we are able to keep our balance perfectly when we walk, we don't really look fit while climbing trees or jumping from one rock to another. Tails would make us better at parkour and other difficult sports. But they might also be used to other things than keeping the balance, e.g. to hang on trees like opossums do it! Maybe tails would let us sleep upside down so we wouldn't need beds anymore? Long, flexible tails might be also used as another hand, for example in a kitchen – we might use our hands to cut food and stir a soup with a tail at the same time!

We would probably use tails also to express our emotions. Cats wag their tails when they are nervous or excited and dogs do it when they're happy. Do you think we would be like them or we would develop other ways of 'tail communication'? Or maybe we would just have them in control and never use them like this!

And what about our looks? Do you think humans would have their tails furry? And if so, would we shave them? And would the size of tail matter? Who knows, maybe a long, thin tail would be considered as fit!
There is no doubt that tails would also influence fashion. How would our jeans or skirts look like – would we just make holes or hide the tails inside? Would we need a special clothing to keep them warm on winter? Maybe there would be even some special jewellery to make them look fabulous!

Anyway, what do you think? How would it be if humans had tails?
