Wallet
Do you sometimes struggle to keep your money collected? Well, that's why most people use a wallet: A small bag or book in different material of your choosing, with room for all your coins, euro bills, credit cards and other documents.
The wallet has through the years been used in different ways: In ancient Greece, the wallet was a poor mans portable larder, where he would most commonly keep food, not like a lunch box but a survival back to store his most valuable belongings.
When paper currency was introduced to the west in the 1600s, wallets were made out of cow and horse leather to store cash, book of accounts and small articles of daily necessity.
In the 19th century, storing dried meat, treasure and "things not to be exposed" in the wallet was common, and in order to look civilized, you had to wear you wallet in your belt, putting your wallet in your pocket was considered uncivilized or uncommon.
In Spain the wallet was used to store cigarettes.
In Present day, wallets are used to store credit cards, cash and other important documents. The pocket sized wallet is the most common wallet, but you can also find wallets that pay more resemblance to a hand bag.
You can find wallets in all shapes, colors and material, but trough the years the wallet has had the same purpose, to store valuable objects when we are out in public, and its safe to say that the wallet was invented in ancient Greece.
