Who doesn’t know the problem either? You are going by car with your parents, friends or alone a complete emtpty road and even without civilized surroundings. You can feel the total quietness, get bored, sluggish, and just follow with your eyes the endless wideness of the road.

However, I found an artist for today’s band of the week who might be the solution to this problem: Julius Marx. I would now like to introduce to you the one, through his voice and in instruments in his songs, as I already mentioned, is the perfect artist for long road trips as well as places like the beach. 

The solo artist Julius Marx is a German songwriter and has been fascinated by music since his eights birthday when he got his first guitar. The instrument guitar is also a big constituent of his music and the sounds of the guitars can listen in all the songs. You can classify his music in the category as “Pop, Americana, Classic Rock and Blues”. The 24 year old artist already found inspiration for his music at young ages. Bands like “John Meyer, Fleetwood Mac and Oasis” influenced his style of music by analysing the songs meticulously (and recording several/some demos). 

The artist currently lives in Cologne, Germany but he already played in several different bars in Germany and even in New York, USA once. After finishing college and working in different kinds of jobs, Julius Marx has decided to focus more on his passion music from now on. Accordingly, he already published three songs on Jamendo which are signed with a unique tune and great lyrics. It shows how much effort and passion he puts in his music. Consequently, the music video to the song “Genie Love” appears very professional too. Unfortunately, he doesn´t have many views on his Jamendo profile yet, almost 36000. But I am still convinced he will become famous one day.        

The instrument that is used the most is a guitar. However, in the background, you can also recognize many different instruments e.g. drums and an e-guitar. Sometimes these instruments appear for a certain time only. Especially this feature can be noticed in the song called “Genie Love” generating for a change and consequently an emotional strengthening in the lyrics as well as an atmosphere of the song. By adding a kind of noise of a crowd in a café or restaurant, the song “Somewhere Over In The Crowds “reflects this feature as well. The song appears more authentic and the listener is able to delve into the emotional world of the lyrics. His voice creates the perfect folk and rock tone and you directly get a great mood. The songs are about small stories as well as certain thoughts and decisions of love and relationships. So accordingly, lyrics you can identify yourself. 

So next time when you are on a road trip or at the beach, just listen to Julius Marx and you will have a great time again. For that, I will present to you the newest single of him “Ocean Views”. That is also my favourite one so far and I can recommend it to everyone. It contains a great tone of an e-guitar and drums which creates a nice summer atmosphere.
