Summer has finally begun again. This means: Heat, sun, and most of all: beach time! If you are searching for a calm and not touristic place, a beautiful bay, where you could easily be alone, but which on the other hand is also not too easy to reach, I may have the right place for you: The “beach far away”.

Gialiskari beach is located in the north eastern part of the Island. Its name is Gialiskari and you can find it close to the village Kardamyla, between the beaches Nagos and Vlichada.

In our radio we present you all the beautiful places Chios Island offers to its visitors. This time we’ll talk about another awesome beach. Its name is Giosonas – The name’s origin is the mythical hero of antiquity with the name Giasonas (engl. version: Jason). People say that this god passed the place during the Argonaut’s expedition on his quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
