Greek mythology for children

I believe most of the people know about the Greek mythology and also agree that it is really interesting and also educative in its own way.
Even so it can not be stated that it is for everyone or better said for every age, because, like most of the mythologies around the world, it is stained with cruelty and brutal actions which show the flaws of human and gods, being like that educative by showing weaknesses and their impact on everyone’s life.

Antigone (Anouilh)

Today I would like to recommend you a drama, either through reading, or if you ever have the occasion, to see it, because this is what drama is made for. It is the adaption of the “Antigone” by Jean Anouilh, a French dramatist, whose story in all its complexity was narrated by Sophocles, in one of the three remaining Theban plays, in or before 441 BC.

Wildcat under the glass

Today I would like to talk to you again about Greek literature.
The book I would like to introduce to you today is called “Το Καπλάνι της Βιτρινας” or in English “Wildcat under the glass” by Alki Zei.
The story takes place in the year 1936 in the village Malagari on Samos with the siblings Melia and Mirto as the two protagonists.
Through the story we often find the phrase “Efpo? Lipo?” being asked between the siblings at night, being a sign for each other that they can talk about happenings and their feelings through the day.

The Titan's Curse

This week I'll be telling you about the fantasy-adventure novel "The Titan's Curse" which is part of the series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" by Rick Riordan. "The Titan's Curse" is actually the third book of the series. The first two, "The Lightning Thief" and "The Sea of Monsters", were made into movies that were successfully played in cinemas all around the world.
