Athens and Epidaurus Festival

This week I thought it would be quite interesting to talk about some part of Greece’s culture, more precisely one event. The “Athens and Epidaurus Festival” takes place in both Athens and Epidaurus as the name says and lasts from May to October. It offers music, dance and theatre performances. For more than 50 years this festival succeeded in promising its visitors magical summer nights.

Tsiknopempti

Eastern is approaching very fast and with Eastern, in the Catholic Church and especially in Greece, the time of fasting also starts. Beginning on Ash Monday, for 40 days no one will eat any meat in Greece. The beginning of the fasting time and the beginning of the carnival as well, is marked by Tsiknopempti, a celebration, where everywhere meat is cooked and people eat meat in all of Greece. Sounds great, isn`t it? And it is. But what is this mostly unknown celebration?

Study Visit

Study Visit

 

Between the 8th and the 14th of March, 2015, on Ziemia Kłodzka region (Poland) took place an international study visit with 34 youth workers from Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Greece, Italy, Poland and Turkey. This study visit was organized by Europejskie Forum Młodzieży, from Poland, under Key Action 1 of Erasmus + Programme: Mobility of learners and staff.
