Chios Port

When you first arrive in Chios city for sure you will see the magnificent port of Chios. By night it simply looks amazing but today I will tell you about the specialties and characteristics of this stunning harbor.

Chios Port area and land first engraved in 1952, the port was built in 1985. In Chios Island, this port is the only one for passenger ships. The ships usually go to Piraeus in Athens, the belonging small islands Oinousses and Psara, Cesme in Turkey and other Greek islands. In the harbor of Chios town there is also a marina, where all kinds of ships and boats can tie and which is well connected with the social life of the city. This gives that area a nice vitality and a wonderful atmosphere. Once your ship is tied, have a look on the stunning attractions of the island, for example visit the historical windmills, which were part of the industrial evolution of the island in the 19th and 20th century and are only 1,5 km north the city. Another place of interest is the castle of Chios, which dates to the byzantine period and which offers a variety of nice cafes and a stunning view! In the city you can have a walk in the beautiful park by the main square and later go and have a coffee there.
