Alarm clock

One of the most commonly used gadget is the alarm clock: its origin is in ancient Greece. Yes, in due course of time and with the proper sophistication of technology, the alarm clock went through a number of changes from a mechanical alarm to the

modern gadgets like mobile phone. But the first of alarms used by ancient Greeks were nothing like today. They used to integrate to the time mechanism drums and water organs to make them sound as alarm.
The ancient Greek philosopher Plato (428–348 BC) said to possess a large water clock with an unspecified alarm signal similar to the sound of a water organ; he used it at night, possibly for signaling the beginning of his lectures at dawn. The engineer and inventor Ctesibius (285–222 BC) fitted his clepsydras with dial and pointer for indicating the time, and added elaborate alarm system made to drop pebbles on a gong, or blow trumpets at pre-set times.
Nowadays we have a lot of alarms made in different ways for example the one on the bedside table has a projector that project the time on the ceiling; there is one that lights up with soft colors at the same time in order to enlighten your bedroom while you wake up.
While if you don’t want to disturb other people sleeping in the same bedroom you can set the alarm on your mobile with the vibration.
