Church of Saint Tryphon

The place I will suggest today is Chios Island, in the beautiful southern region.
I you are looking for a historical and religious place to visit, but you also like to enjoy nature, silence and tranquility, the Church of Agios Trifonas (Saint Tryphon) is the perfect place for you!
It's located on a hill, in the countryside of Nenita.
The church is surrounded by a yard with arches, and gardens with lemon and mandarine trees, the green of the grass and the brown walls make the contrast with the blue sky in the sunny days and create a magical atmosphere.

The church is dedicated to Saint Tryphon, a 3rd century christian martyr. He is said to have been born at Kampsade (Campsada, in Phyrghia, now Turkey). He acquired fame as a healer, especially of animals, and he is the protector of farmers and winegrowers.
When we know this we can say that the location of the Church is perfect!
It is surrounded by a park with tall trees and green long grass, the view is on the whole bay, the port of Vokaria and the countryside around Nenita, with its Mastic trees. In the horizon stands the Turkish coast. Only a few kilometers separate it form the Greek Island.
The place if perfect to spend some hours in a retired place in the nature, to meditate and let thoughts flow, or simply to enjoy an afternoon with friends or family, with the possibility to visit a Greek Church and, if you want, also the Aegean Botanic Garden, which is just in front of the church's yard.
So, there are no more words to describe the amazing place and landscape, you have to come and see it yourself!
