Patmos

Patmos also known as the island of the apocalypse is one of the Greek islands with the most history, this is where Saint John had his vision and wrote the apocalypse. The monastery of Saint John and the cave of apocalypse is the two most important things to see in Patmos, thousands of pilgrims and tourist come to see this every year.



This island is not only known for its religious places, Patmos have also a lot of nice beaches, beautiful mountains that is perfect to go hiking in.

According to mythology, Patmos was a present from Zeus to his daughter Artemis, goddess of hunting and young women. She was worshipped here in antiquity, and the monastery of St. John was built on her temple.  

The night life is not the best since there are only about 2800 inhabitants on the island. If you are planning a trip to Patmos you will have a relaxing time with beautiful beaches and historical places to visit.
