Kaceo

Kaceo is in the preliminary round for the Swiss representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. They line up with their new song and music clip “Disque d’Or”. So it’s an honour for us to present you this week’s band of the week.

The first step for the band was set by Nicolas Vivier in 2007 when he started to publish some rough work on Jamendo. After some years he settled down in Geneva and in 2013 he ended his nomadic life and Luis Pisconte (guitar), Karim Maghraoui (accordion) and Benoit Roessinger (drums) joined him. They made their first concerts and soon they got honoured with several prices. Today they are a quintet with another drummer, Florian Casarsa and Quentin Mathieu, who plays the bass. They published some CD’s and also video clips.

The band’s music is a good mix between French chansons, rock and pop. They play their music with humour and much sensibility, but also very vibrant. Their song texts are rather sweeping, ironic and full of sarcasm. So if you understand French you will be entertained by their dynamic way to call a spade a spade. If not, anyway you will have a nice time listening to their energetic songs.

If you are more interested in what the successful new band does, have a look on their official webpage kaceo.net. You can also download their songs for free on Jamendo!
