Antiparos

In a coziness, that only a small island with few inhabitants is able to offer, you can enjoy all these conveniences with only a few people and as a result much comfort.

Antiparos has around 1200 inhabitants, and its size is 35,090 square kilometres. The main street is around 11 kilometres long. It is opposite of its sister-island Paros, only a 1, 5 km sea way separates them. You can pass this way with a 10-15 minutes ferry, or a 30 minutes boat trip to the main place of Paros.

The main attractions are the beautiful stalactite caves Spilio Agiou Ioannou , which are maybe the coldest place in the island. Even in summer you have to take a jacket to not to get cold. Furthermore there is a diving school in the village of Antiparos. Don’t miss to discover the awesome underwater world of the Greek island! Another really recommendable activity is to make a boat tour around the island. This will take almost the whole day, but you will see all the beautiful and stunning sand beaches, which are not reachable usually. After some stops on those beaches and small wonderful caves, you can enjoy a barbecue for lunch in the Greek sun.

In summer the island is a destination for families and young people. During the day you can enjoy the sand beaches and the Greek sea or do one of the mentioned activities, and in the night the small village is full of young people who want to enjoy their time in the nice bars, cafes and taverns the village has to offer. And maybe you will meet Tom Hanks and his family on the next pita place. They discerned the natural beauty of the awesome little island some years ago and are big Greece lovers.

He also joined the Channel-Crossing event of Paros and Antiparos, which takes place once a year during summer. The challenge to cross the 1, 5 km long sea channel between Paros and Antiparos is taken by young and old people and a celebration for the whole island. The competition is kept on watch by safeguarded swimmers and life boats.
