Swear and Shake

Swear and Shake, an American indie-folk band formed in 2010 on a university campus in the city of New York, after more than five years of performing, lately has become one of the most recognisable indie music groups in the States. Let's introduce them also to Europe!

Karl Spieler and Adam McHeffey, both vocalists and guitarists, met for the first time on their senior year of collage, although the two of them would be performing quite frequently around the campus before. As their first ballad Johnnie rapidly spread among other students, it immediately reached Shaun Savage and Benny Goldstein, the band's bass guitarist- and drummer-to-be.

The band's first album, Maple Ridge, was recorded in 2012 through crowd funding, which made Swear and Shake famous in the Internet. Next years the group focused on promotion, concerts, and the release of the second full-length recording.

Finally the 2014 brought many novelties to the band: in August its third album, Ain't That Lovin', was released, while in November the band moved out from Brooklyn, New York, and settled in Nashville, Tennessee, in order to work on its fourth album.

Listen to Swear and Shake's first recording, “a heart-wrenching”, as they call it, Johnnie! Enjoy!
