The Lobster

This time we will present you the new movie The Lobster, which was produced, directed and written by the Greek Giorgos Lanthimos, who made already films like Alps (2011) and Dogtooth (2009), whose description you can find too on our webpage.

The story plays in a future world, where singles have to find their love in 45 days. If they don’t succeed, they will be turned into an animal and have to live in the woods. The film won the Jury price at the film festival in Cannes 2015 and was also nominated for the Palm d’Or.

The single David (Colin Farrell) arrives with his dog, which is his transformed brother, in the Hotel, where he has to find his love for live. In the check-in he has to say, in which animal he wants to be transformed, if he fails. A Lobster is his answer. After some small and success less tries he is in the end of his stay still a single and so he decides to flee in the woods, where other refugees live already. They have complete opposite rules than the Hotel and love is here forbidden. But, as god wants, he falls in love with another “Loner” and they develop their own sign language. How their story ends I don’t want to tell, but be sure that this hilarious, dark and shocking realistic movie is worth seeing it.

The film is since October 2015 in the cinemas of some European countries and was internationally produced. So why don’t you make your own opinion of the film and watch it in the cinema in your hometown? I’m sure you will like and enjoy it.
