... invisibility cloaks really existed?

Just imagine, we could just throw on our magic cloak and wander around without being seen by anyone like a certain young wizard with a scar on his forehead… Countless unimagined opportunities, so many things we have dreamt of we could finally do in the safety of our invisibility…

We all want different things of course, but just imagine how many new doors would open to people who possessed such a cloak: starting from simple things like casually going to the supermarket in your pyjamas (because who cares what you are wearing when they can not even see you anyway), hiding from people you prefer not to run into too often and finding out if your husband or wife is really cheating on you. But also a career as a spy or an illusionist suddenly becomes a realistic dream job opportunity. 

The problem with those Invisibility Cloaks is that they could also easily be used for bad and illegal things. You could never be sure if your private thoughts and secrets were only heard by the person you want to share them with and not also by a bunch of people that are up to no good. Furthermore invisibility would make it easy for people to commit any crime they want, such as theft, stalking and smuggling and on the other hand it would be almost impossible for the police to arrest these people.

In the end we could probably not trust our friends and family anymore and would be suspicious about all the people that cross our path. We would live in a world full of dishonesty, bad faith and the constant fear of being watched. followed and spied on. And is that really worth it?
