Monastery Beach

If you want to enjoy being on a cosy beach far away from a crowd, the Monastery Beach is perfect for you. Located in the neighborhood to Mersinidi Monastery down the highway it is easy to find because you can immediately spot the cars next to the beach.

You can find it between Daskalopetra and Glari beach, but still close enough to reach it by foot. Luckily it is really easy to find: Just continue the main road from Vrontados to the north of the Island and you cannot miss it, because it is located close to the monastery! But be aware of the cars…

And for everybody who cannot get enough of this quite but outstandingly beautiful beach I have very good news: there are actually two of them! The first one is directly under the Mirsinidi monastery, the other one is just a few minutes of walking away. Both of them are enjoyable and naturally beautiful because they seem to be not changed by humans at all.

The Mirsinidi beach is located directly in the feet of the mountains so when you have a bath you can enjoy a unique view. And as if this is not enough, you can also enjoy the view at the Mirsinidi monastery on the cliff between the two beaches with its blue cupolas!

The beaches themselves consist of really small stones and are therefore very comfortable. Because of the trees you always have the possibility to escape from the burning midday sun, even without taking an umbrella all the way with you. The clear and colorful sea is perfect for diving, snorkeling or just swimming some rounds.

There are some cliffs around which turn these beaches into a small natural bay.

And if you are already there you can also take a quick look at the monastery, which provides a beautiful view to the sea.

If you plan a nice Saturday picnic there, make sure you take with you everything you need. One of the good things is that beaches are kept totally natural, there are no restaurants, cafeteria or shops.

So pack you beach bag and let’s go for this nice walk to one of the most beautiful beaches of the Island!
