The musician we chose for this week’s band of the week is the American singer-songwriter Nick Davies. He’s from Madison, a city in the south of Wisconsin and next to the lake Mendota.

Maybe he sometimes sits down at the lake to think about new songs and get inspiration. What we can tell you about the music he already has published is that there are both really up-tempo songs, like “Keep on Running”, and also some really slow and emotional songs, like “Michael Henchard”. Davies describes his music as a variety of different musical categories. Therefore his music varies widely from punk and metal to jazz and soul. 

An interesting fact about Nick Davies is that he creates all his music himself. Moreover he uses only his laptop and a few instruments to record and edit his music and to reach the heart of the people who listen to his music. He says he wants to create something unique to escape from the genre chaos. A song that really enables you to escape from this is “Alison”.

His music is relatable and you hear his love for music when you listen to any of his songs. For me, this is a good sentence to finish the topic “band of the week” for today.
